This project proposes the implementation of a strategic branding plan to raise awareness of the Muebles Pinceladas business, based on a visual system aligned with the brand’s essence and objectives that will strengthen its identity and communication. It has been identified that the business faces challenges in defining the brand’s strategic foundation, its visual identity, and communication, as well as a lack of implementation of strategies that directly impact the brand’s coherence and consistency across all its touchpoints, thereby limiting its ability to connect with the public and position itself in the market. The methodology applied used a mixed approach complemented by theoretical reviews that allowed for an in-depth identification of the issues. Information was gathered through interviews with specialists in design, branding, and marketing; a survey of the business’s clients to understand their perceptions; as well as a competitive analysis, a brand audit, and a social media audit. These techniques enabled the identification of visual and communication issues, as well as the needs of the target audience. Consequently, the outcome of this proposal is the development of a strategic branding plan centered on five pillars—soul, pulse, voice, strength, and face—that enable the creation of a well-structured brand by reinforcing its essence and visual identity, with the aim of enhancing brand communication and recognition in the market.

This project focuses on the design of an adaptable jig intended to improve structural accuracy and operational ergonomics during the assembly of metallic roll bars at the company Muebles León, located in Ambato, Ecuador. The initiative arises from a production process that, despite complying with the dimensional standards required by AMBACAR, presents technical and ergonomic limitations due to the use of a completely fixed template. These restrictions lead to misalignments, physically demanding maneuvers, and prolonged operational times. The research was carried out using a quasi-experimental approach complemented by principles of Design Thinking, which enabled a clear understanding of the process before and after the intervention. Technical–ergonomic observations, structured interviews, and photographic field documentation were applied. The pretest revealed assembly cycles between 48 and 50 minutes, along with a very high ergonomic risk level according to the REBA method, associated with inclined postures, manual lifting, and the absence of mechanisms that allow controlled rotation or inclination of the structure. In response, an adaptable jig was designed, incorporating a dual mobility axis, an independent inclination system, and calibrated clamping mechanisms, while preserving the original template approved for automotive use. The implementation of the prototype under real workshop conditions reduced operational time to 35 minutes, improved dimensional stability, and decreased the physical strain experienced by the operator during welding tasks. The results show that industrial design, applied from a user-centered perspective and validated through a quasi-experimental process, can generate direct improvements in efficiency, safety, and assembly quality within metalworking environments.

The research was carried out within the context of microenterprises dedicated to furniture manufacturing in the province of Tungurahua, a sector characterized by artisanal practices and limited systematization. The study focused on Mueblería los Andes, where manual processes, dispersed records, and restricted visual control were identified, leading to measurement errors, rework, and communication difficulties within the workshop. These operational limitations revealed the need for an intervention aimed at improving the company’s efficiency and added value. For this purpose, a strategy based on the 4- ITS Model was proposed to understand the level of design integration within the workshop and to outline improvements across the intangible, tangible, and sustainable dimensions. The initial diagnosis placed the company at Level 2, Design as Aesthetics, which guided the development of a plan focused on strengthening traceability, standardizing processes, and optimizing communication. The methodology combined environmental analysis, direct observation, interviews, and the application of the 4-ITS matrix. This process was complemented by the development of the Integral System for Operational Coding and Validation (SICOV), which organizes productive information through forms, checklists, visual panels, and feedback mechanisms. Its implementation helped structure the workflow and improve the quality of technical documentation. The results show progress in operational control, error reduction, and communicative clarity, positioning the company toward a transition to Level 3, Design in Processes and Actions. The proposal demonstrates that the model and system developed can be applied to other microenterprises in the sector, strengthening competitiveness and local productive management.
