In Ecuador, there is a devaluation of cultural heritage, which in the province of Esmeraldas is associated with ancestral traditions such as the creation of fishing nets. Therefore, this integrative project addresses the underrepresentation of Afro-Ecuadorian identity and the underuse of traditional techniques such as macramé in contemporary fashion design. Objective: To design a collection of women's clothing in the Athleisure style that integrates the Afro-Ecuadorian macramé technique as a cultural practice, in order to raise the profile of contemporary Afro-Ecuadorian identity and strengthen the value proposition of the Palla company. Methods: A mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology was used, which included an analytical-comparative and practical field method. The design strategy was based on Design Thinking, with its phases of empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. To obtain information, techniques such as semi-structured interviews with five Afro-Ecuadorian artisans and two representatives of the Palla brand, active observation, and surveys of 50 potential users were used. Results: Market research revealed that the target audience is young women aged 18 to 25 who frequently wear athleisure clothing and prioritize comfort and design, preferring cotton and a subtle macramé style. In addition, the final collection was structured into six looks with silhouettes, fusing macramé with technical fabrics and a visual narrative of resilience and empowerment. Conclusions: It is concluded that the proposed design is viable and highly desirable, as it successfully integrates the contemporary functionality of athleisure with the deep cultural value of AfroEcuadorian macramé, fulfilling the objective of strengthening Palla's value proposition through conscious fashion with identity.

This thesis project is about the development of textile design products for the home, using the macramé technique as a decorative detail. The main objective is to create a line of objects such as wall hangings, cushions, table runners and placemats that combine modern design with an artisanal and handmade touch. Although macramé is an important technique within the project, the main focus is on textile design: thinking about the materials, colors, shapes and functions of each piece so that it looks good in the spaces of the home and also has a utility. What is sought is that these products not only serve as decoration, but also convey emotions and reflect a warmer, natural and personal style. The work process included researching the topic, seeing what products exist in the market, surveying potential users to find out their tastes, and finally designing and manufacturing the products. We also worked on the technical specifications and costs, thinking that this line of products could be marketed. The general idea is to show how a traditional technique such as macramé can be rescued and applied to current textile design, generating pieces that look good, have quality and tell a story. With this, we want to give more value to manual work and offer decorative alternatives with identity.

This research seeks to create a women's apparel collection that incorporates ropemaking techniques, in collaboration with the entrepreneurial group "Semilleros." This project aims to preserve a craft practice that is at risk of disappearing, giving it new value through its aesthetic, functional, and sustainable application in the fashion industry. To achieve this objective, a methodology based on the nine domains of design was applied, which facilitated a detailed analysis of the user, their environment, and the purpose of the garments. Qualitative studies, including interviews, focus groups, and experiments, were conducted to identify the appropriate types of knots, the most suitable materials, and the preferences of the target audience. Throughout the creative process, visual, conceptual, and symbolic elements were established that shaped the collection's proposal. The results show that rope-making, especially macramé, has great potential to be integrated into contemporary textile design, providing artisanal value, a unique aesthetic, and a sustainable approach. Collaboration with local entrepreneurs strengthened the connection between design and the artisan community, promoting both economic development and cultural preservation. Ultimately, the project successfully combines traditional techniques with modern fashion design, generating an innovative proposal that responds to current market demands, reaffirms cultural identity, and protects intangible heritage through design.

The national production in the Ecuador has a low percentage as soon as child clothing is spoken, since the more elaborate product focuses on the junior market, however should be taken into account that the more commercial for this type of clothing is Guayaquil since here is where the ports of export and import of the goods. The development of children's clothes for girls of 2-4 years has great importance for parents since they enhance the delicacy and sweetness of the same through tissues made manually which are made in different colors to match the outfit and applying current trends, using the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analyzed the points in which greater focus must be to reach a successful acceptance of the product through surveys of parents which determined the requirements of the market objective, also could be made that there are currently no children's clothing with hand finished. This is why that was created this proposal in order to provide originality unlike any other value-added finished Couture-like since they are made by hand, and embroidered with threads of different thickness, giving girls the opportunity to look like a fairy tale princesses as this age shows it thus achieving comprehensive development , and providing the industry with a technique not practiced continuously putting into practice today On the other hand we can say that the project will have a quantitative approach since we use qualitative and statistical inference procedures because it has an explorative character, at the same time contribute to the transformation of the productive matrix in the Ecuador creating something new and innovative to make known to Ecuadorians and they begin to consume a national product of excellent quality which will involve the participation of the manufacturing industry offering as much of work
