Item type:Ítem, Diseño de una línea de luminarias urbanas para mejorar la percepción de seguridad y la integración comunitaria en el parque central de la parroquia Santa Rosa, cantón Ambato – Tungurahua(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIAL, 2026-07-06) ;Velásquez Verdesoto Nicole Solange ;Montenegro Cajas Patricia GermaniaUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIALUrban lighting is a key element in ensuring safety, promoting the appropriation of public spaces, and encouraging their use during nighttime hours. In the central park of Santa Rosa Parish, located in Ambato Canton, deficiencies in the distribution, quality, and variety of lighting have negatively affected users' perception of safety and limited activities related to recreation, social interaction, and permanence within the public space. In response to this issue, the objective of this research was to design a line of urban luminaires equipped with a hybrid system that combines solar energy and connection to the public electrical grid, aimed at improving safety perception and encouraging the use of public spaces. This study was developed within the research line focused on design, production, materials, identity, sustainability, and applied technologies. A mixed-methods approach was employed, supported by Design Thinking and participatory design methodologies, allowing users' needs and expectations to be incorporated into the design process. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, observation sheets, and field mapping, which enabled the identification of existing problems, user requirements, and opportunities for intervention.Item type:Ítem, Desarrollo de un sistema de mobiliario adaptable para potenciar la ergonomía y el aprendizaje en estudiantes de 6 a 7 años de edad(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIAL, 2025-07-25) ;Bayas Bustos Kevin David ;Medina Moncayo Andrés SebastiánUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIALThis study addresses the ergonomic and functional shortcomings of existing classroom furniture for 6- to 7-year-old students at Escuela Juan Pablo II in Ambato. Its primary objective was to design an adaptable, modular furniture system that promotes healthy posture, efficient organization of school materials, and supports pedagogical autonomy. The research applied an iterative Minimum Viable Product (MVP) methodology: an initial 1:4 scale model in MDF validated proportions, assembly ease, and storage concepts; this was followed by a full-scale prototype in 15 mm triplex with calibrated joinery to test structural stability and real-world functionality. Quantitative measures (assembly time, structural resistance) and qualitative feedback (direct observation, satisfaction surveys) guided successive refinements in material selection, joinery tolerances, and the integration of adjustable internal and external storage compartments. Results demonstrate that the final design meets ergonomic criteria—ensuring comfortable writing posture—while its modular construction and configurable storage enhance classroom organization and foster student responsibility. The study concludes that the iterative MVP approach effectively balances resource efficiency with user-centered innovation. Future work should involve ongoing in-class validation cycles, systematic involvement of teachers and students, and long-term durability assessments to ensure sustainable implementation in diverse educational settings.
