ABSTRACT The following work of investigation has the purpose to evaluate the thermic comfort and lighting in the offices of The Province of Tungurahua Government, a public institution in which thermic discomfort exist due mostly because of the exterior environmental conditions (high and low temperatures throughout the day) ,the lack of air renovation, the working clothes and because of the agglomeration of cubicles in small areas, also there are existing levels of inadequate lighting due to the glare of the solar light, incorrect placement of the offices and because of the bad placement of lamps. A total of 82 offices were analyzed, offices in which the process of risk evaluation was performed, the process starts by identifying the main sources that generate hazard because of temperature and lighting by using a check list, followed by the measurement of levels of temperature and lightning, using Fanger's method for the thermic comfort and the strategy based on the job proposal for the lightning comfort , in order to obtain the measurements it is required to have a HD32.3 and a lux meter, These instruments are then established with strategies and protocols in order to measure what is needed. Finally the obtained results are compared with tolerable limits accomplishing to establish adequate safety measures. The results of thermal comfort in 82 offices states that 41 are comfortable 39 are slightly warm, 2 slightly cold and none hot. Now referring to the results of lighting comfort, it is stated that 16 offices have acceptable lightning, 30 offices lack the proper lighting and 36 have excessive lightning. These results indicate the need to improve the thermic and lightning conditions of certain offices that require it, the following solutions are presented as options to improve the conditions; the implementation of horizontal or vertical blinds, the air renovations have to be done at least 4 times per hour, the working spaces have to be covered to avoid glare from the sun , the lightning distribution have to be placed in a symmetrical way and it is recommended to perform exercise to relief accumulated tension.
