El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la relación entre imagen corpora l y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes. La muestra utilizada fue de 120 estudiantes con un rango de edad entre 13 a 18 años de una unidad educativa de la provincia de Cotopax i. La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo no experimental con corte transversal y alcance correlacional. Para medir las variables se usaron el Cuestionario de Imagen Corporal (BSQ) creado por Cooper, Taylor y Fairburn en 1996 y el Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) creado por Organización Mundial de la Salud en 1992. Los resultados dieron a conocer que no existe una relación significativa entre estas dos variables (Rho= 0.145 p>0.05), en cuanto a las medias de sexo en relación al consumo de alcohol no existen diferencias estadísticam ente significativas entre hombres (M=1.85) y mujeres (M=2.96) con una (U=985, p>0.05).Body image is the set of perceptions, thoughts, emotions and behaviors that a person has in relation to his or her own body, while alcohol consumption is a public proble m worldwide, being a substance of greater consumption in adolescence.
