El propósito principal de este estudio es analizar la gestión de competencias informacionales y alfabetización informacional en Bibliotecas Universitarias. La metodología usada en esta investigación tiene un enfoque mixto cuanti - cualitativo de carácter descriptivo, lo que permitió al investigador debelar los aspectos que son pertinentes de acuerdo con el objeto de estudio. El trabajo empírico tuvo como objeto de este estudio a los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Administrativas de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, usuarios de la Biblioteca. De esta forma se determinó que la biblioteca universitaria se constituye en el núcleo central de las actividades académicas de investigación y generación de conocimiento, con todos los recursos bibliográficos accesibles a los usuarios. Con ello se concluye que la biblioteca como centro difusor del conocimiento e información debe contar con un fondo bibliográfico relevante con el fin de organizarlo y elaborarlo de manera útil, para que ayude a la toma de decisiones.This research work was developed from the analysis of information skills in the training of users to academic processes of ALFIN in a university library. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the management of informational skills and informational literacy in university libraries. The methodology used in this research has a mixed approach that is qualitative - descriptive, which allowed the researcher to identify aspects that are relevant according to the object of study. The empirical work was aimed at students of the Faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences of the National University of Chimborazo, users of the Library. Thus it was determined that the university library is at the core of academic research and knowledge generation activities, with all bibliographic resources accessible to users.
