The general objective of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of the use of Websites in the writing skills. The specific objectives were to identify the websites which help learnersto the development of the writing skill, evaluate students writing skill, and make use of websites to help students to improve the writing skill. The research was conducted at Unidad Educativa “Santo Domingo de Guzmán” in Ambato, involving 59 students from two different classes. A quasi-experimental design was implemented, where 2 groups were divided, an experimental and a control group. Both groups took part in the research as they took a pre and post-test, the experimental group had a treatment of 6 classes focused on the development the writing skill. The PET standardized test was applied, parts 1 and 2 of the written section were used to evaluate students’ writing skills. The criteria of the rubric were based on Content, Communicative achievement, Organization and Language. A paired t-test was conducted to compare the mean scores of the control group and experimental group on the pre-test and post-test measures. The findings in this research show that the integration of Websites such as Grammarly, Write & Improve with Cambridge, and Wix in the writing skills is effective and help to its development.Esta tesis examina el impacto de los sitios web en el desarrollo de habilidades de escritura. El objetivo general del estudio fue analizar la efectividad del uso de sitios web en las habilidades de escritura. Los objetivos específicos fueron identificar los sitios web que ayudan a los alumnos en el desarrollo de la habilidad de escritura, evaluar las habilidades de escritura de los estudiantes y hacer uso de los sitios web para ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar la habilidad de escritura. La investigación se llevó a cabo en la Unidad Educativa "Santo Domingo de Guzmán" en Ambato, involucrando a 59 estudiantes de dos clases diferentes. Se implementó un diseño cuasiexperimental, donde se dividieron 2 grupos, un grupo experimental y un grupo de control. Ambos grupos participaron en la investigación, realizando un pre-test y un post-test; el grupo experimental recibió un tratamiento de 6 clases enfocadas en el desarrollo de la habilidad de escritura. Se aplicó el examen estandarizado PET, la parte escrita 1 y 2 fue para evaluar las habilidades de escritura de los estudiantes. Los criterios de la rúbrica se basan en Contenido, Logro comunicativo, Organización y Lenguaje. Se realizó una prueba “T” para comparar las puntuaciones medias del grupo de control y el grupo experimental en las medidas del pre-test y post-test.
