Metodología: la investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo y prospectivo. La población infantil del estudio perteneció al Centro de Salud Tipo “C” Catamayo, se realizó el trabajo con niños de 2 a 5 años de edad, los resultados de esta investigación demuestran que la media de edad de los niños es de 41,72 meses con un DS de 10,183. Existe más hombres que mujeres, con una razón por sexo de 1,9/1 H/M o 190/100. Resultados: El estudio reveló que la sumatoria entre el desarrollo global medio (34,4%) medio alto (3,1%) es del 37.5% desarrollo normal y el 62,5% de los niños presenta alerta en el desarrollo global. Estos datos orientan a implementar tempranamente programas de intervención con actividades lúdicas para el desarrollo.Objective: To establish the level of development of children from 2 to 5 years of age assessed with the Nelson Ortiz Abbreviated Development Scale in order to identify the criteria for the elaboration of a play activities guide.
