Beschreibung: This study arises from the limited existence of accommodation offers in the Mulaló parish, considering the tourist potential it has for the development of rural tourism, ecotourism and adventure tourism. The objective is to investigate glamping and rural tourism in this area, contemplating them as an innovative lodging alternative capable of generating idyllic experiences in the tourists who visit it. A mixed research of exploratory and descriptive scope was developed, which through the bibliographic review and the application of surveys and comparison lists allowed to identify the current state of rural tourism in Mulaló, the needs and expectations of national demand, as well as the services and activities currently offered by Samay Collections, Casacha Glamping and The Secret Garden Cotopaxi; referents of this type of lodging in Ecuador. The results show the growing interest of national tourists to discover and experience new types of accommodation that offer outdoor activities, in contact with nature and the traditions of local communities. The study allows us to conclude that the diversification of the offer of lodging and recreation linked to rural tourism, are essential for the responsible use of the natural and cultural resources of the peripheral areas, which is reinforced by the current need of tourists to find spaces that provide entertainment and comfort, while safeguarding their health against COVID-19.
