Description: The present research is important and contains scientific novelty since in the manufacturing sector in the city of Latacunga similar studies have not been carried out before. An economic-financial model was applied, that is to say, an analysis of the patrimony which was measured with the horizontal method and yielded results of growth and decrease in the 8 family manufacturing companies of the city of Latacunga submitted to the study. The large category companies had the highest growth with 20.09 porcente, followed by medium-sized companies with a growth of 5.05 porcente and microenterprises with 1.16 porcente, while small companies had a decrease in equity of -19.76 porcente during the 5 years of the study. Since equity is an important part of the company, it helps to define the current situation, which influences the impact of business continuity. The Altman Z1 method was used in the measurement, which is the most appropriate for this type of companies, since they are closed capital companies and this is where family companies come in, i.e. these companies are not listed on the stock exchange. In addition, the approach used within the research is quantitative and the data used was taken from the portal of the Superintendence of Company, Securities and Insurance (SUPERCIAS) where the balances required for the corresponding research project were obtained within the city of Latacunga in manufacturing family businesses during the period 2015-2019.
