Description: The purpose of this research work is to contribute to the search for new strategies to improve the process - teaching of basic arithmetic operations in students with dyscalculia. The Battery for the Rapid Evaluation of Evolutionary Dyscalculia (B.E.R.D.E) was used, which has as its main objective the detection of mathematical difficulties in students, using basic numerical activities; allowing to identify those students who have or are prone to having problems in learning mathematics. Additionally, a structured-based basic arithmetic operations test was applied, the content of which is based on performing simple math exercises. The score obtained by the third-year high school students in the two assessments allowed us to establish whether there is a relationship between dyscalculia and basic arithmetic operations using Pearson's correlation. On the other hand, surveys aimed at the various members of the educational community were used to identify the educational processes applied in the institution with students who have dyscalculia and the methodology used by teachers with students who have this Special Educational Need. Thanks to the collection of information, it was possible to reach the conclusion that there is a relationship between the results of the dyscalculia diagnostic test and the basic operations test; additionally, there is a deficiency in teaching methods, lack of training for teachers on Special Educational Needs and on the use of technology in classrooms. Finally, since arithmetic is an important part of mathematics and the one in charge of developing logical thinking, it is essential that the teacher find interactive, dynamic, and innovative teaching methods using software that allow all students to acquire and develop these skills and can be applied in your daily life
