Zusammenfassung: The affections of the feet in patients with diabetes, have great biological, psychological and social repercussion; altering the quality of life of the person and generating great social and health costs. The extent of the damage is related to the type of care and preventive measures practiced by diabetics. Considering this situation, it was intended to perform the analysis of diabetic foot measurements through the anthropometric and biomechanical study; Through a descriptive, observational study developed in 50 older adults with diabetes, they were recorded the measures and parameters of the foot, and the dispersion characteristics of the data; in addition to applying a survey on the factors of irrigation of ulcerations, foot care and preventive measures that they practice. The results obtained show that there are differences of between 0.1 and 1.5cm in the measurements of forefoot length, heel length to 5th metatarsal, length of heel to 5th metatarsal process and width of the forefoot; The most prevalent risk factors were pain and tingling, deformities such as corns and ingrown toenails; in the care of the feet most people practiced proper habits; while in preventive measures, people have problems in choosing suitable footwear, due to the lack of offers in the market. Concluding that there are differences in the dimensions of the foot of a diabetic person, it affects him in the choice of a suitable footwear; for which an anthropometric and foot care manual for diabetics is proposed.
Beschreibung: Las afecciones de los pies en pacientes con diabetes, tienen gran repercusión biológica, psicológica y social; alterando la calidad de vida de la persona y generando grandes costos socio sanitario. El alcance del daño está relacionado con el tipo de cuidado y las medidas preventivas practicadas por los diabéticos. Considerando esta situación se pretendió realizar el análisis de medidas del pie diabético mediante el estudio antropométrico y biomecánico; a través de un estudio descriptivo, observacional desarrollado en 50 adultos mayores con diabetes, se les registró las medidas y parámetros del pie, y las características de dispersión de los datos; además de aplicárseles una encuesta sobre los factores de riego de ulceraciones, cuidados del pie y medidas preventivas que practican. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan que existen diferencias de entre 0,1 a 1,5cm en las medidas la longitud del antepié, longitud talón a 5to metatarsiano, longitud de talón a apófisis de 5to metatarsiano y anchura del antepié; Los factores de riesgo más prevalentes fueron el dolor y el hormigueo, deformidades como callos y uñas encarnadas; en el cuidado de los pies la mayoría de personas practicaban hábitos adecuados; mientras que en las medidas preventivas, las personas tiene problemas en la elección de un calzado adecuado, por la falta de ofertas en el mercado. Concluyendo que existen diferencias en las dimensiones del pie de una persona con diabetes, lo afecta en la elección de un calzado adecuado; para lo que se propone un manual antropométrico para un sistema de tallaje del pie diabético.
