Resumen : The aim of this research work is to stablish the relationship between the Lateral Thinking Technique and the development of the Oral Skill in students of eighth year of General Basic Education. It is because this Institution is well known since they offer the International baccalaureate to their students. For this reason, the learning of the English language is important for the student´s formation. However, the traditional method is still used by teachers. That is why, this technique could change the passive way of working to an active one in order to make student feel interest in learning the English language. Regarding the methodology, this investigative work had a qualitative and quantitative approach. Additionally, the type of research of this research work was exploratory and field research. On the other hand, the data were collected and analyzed through the useof the traditional method which is a survey. The survey was applied to 48 students and 2 teachers. So, the collected information was proof by the statistical calculation Chi-square which lets proofing the hypothesis. Finally, the results of the Chi-square allowed concluding that the Lateral thinking technique influences on the development of the Oral skill of English language
