Abstract: The main objective of the present investigation is to evaluate the induction in camera with the direct and indirect method on pain and postanesthetic recovery in aggressive cats. In 64 aggressive domestic cats females and males with a weight range from 2.5 kg to 4.5 kg. They were submitted to two methods of direct and indirect anesthetic induction. They were divided into four experimental groups. In each method the protocol was used, fentanyl at doses of 5 and 8 ug / kg, after 3min of Preoxygenation that was maintained for the 4 groups. In direct induction, 8% sevoflurane was administered with oxygen at 4 lt / min, initially, the highest flow is given for every 30 seconds, and it is gradually decreased (1CAM) until the minimum maintenance dose of 1 CAM. Indirect Induction was administered 8% sevoflurane conveyed with oxygen at 4 lt / min, initially, the lowest flow was given for every 30 seconds, and gradually increased (1CAM) until reaching the maximum dose of 8 CAM . Subsequently neuroleptoanalgesia is performed with Midazolam of 0.4 mg / kg IM, and fentanyl at 5ug / kg or 8ug / kg IV, respectively. At the end of the surgical procedure, the speed and quality of recovery, the level of consciousness through the modified Glasgow scale, and the BODUCATU multidimensional scale were evaluated for postoperative pain assessment. Both anesthetic methods behaved similarly in terms of induction velocity in the chamber and the quality was better in the indirect method. In the rate of recovery in the chamber, we observed with the direct method was a faster recovery independent of the dose of fentanyl and an acceptable recovery quality independent of the method used. Concerning the level of consciousness during recovery, the indirect method was superior, regardless of the dose of fentanyl used. In the Botucatu multidimensional scale the T4 was the best
