Description: The growth of shrimp production and exports have accelerated in the last decade in Ecuador, generating higher foreign exchange earnings for the country and improving the quality of life of producers. The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the volume of production and importation of Ecuadorian shrimp in the European Economic Community, for which we worked with secondary sources such as the Banco Central del Ecuador (Central Bank of Ecuador), Cámara Nacional de Acuicultura (National Chamber of Aquaculture), and TRADE MAP. Therefore, descriptive statistics and a Log-Lin semi logarithmic multiple regression model were applied. The results indicate a gradual increase in production in the period studied, except for the year 2016, where it was reduced by 46718.1 metric tons. Likewise, it was established that Spain, France and Italy are the main demanders of the Ecuadorian product. In conclusion, it is evident that the volume of total production in Ecuador not only depends on European demand.
