Abstract: The objective of this project is to characterize the daily consumption curve of the drinking water network of large consumers in the Ambato canton, which is divided into two zones, zone 1 corresponding to the south, and zone 2 corresponding to the north of the city. It was carried out through a series of procedures in order to collect the necessary information to determine such consumption. The work began with the recognition of the area, to select the properties of the sector that are scattered in zone 2, in order to make readings of daily consumed volumes of drinking water for a period of forty-five days, in the same way performed the measurement of drinking water pressure in each of the properties for seven consecutive days, for this a mini camera was used that was installed in the Panimboza macro meter, and then proceeded with the respective survey to each of the users selected. With the information obtained, a statistical analysis was performed, obtaining as a result patterns of daily consumption, hourly consumption, pressure variations, per capita consumption of the study area, tables and graphs were also used to better understand said variations and patterns of Drinking water consumption in the study sector. Finally, the GIS software was used to map the location of the meters, differentiating housing types such as: industry, education, government and commerce, in the same way to represent the average per capita consumption according to the type of housing that it is in the selected sample, obtaining a greater consumption of 6.71 m3 /d.
