Abstract: El fútbol es un deporte muy practicado, a nivel mundial; generando una gran demanda en el desarrollo de técnicas que puedan mejorar el rendimiento físico y deportivo de los jugadores, además de reducir las tasas de incidencia de lesiones deportivas; en este contexto se ha propuesto determinar los efectos del masaje deportivo pre-competencia sobre la velocidad en futbolistas del club Técnico universitario de Ambato categoría reserva utilizando la prueba de carrera de 50 metros y la prueba de sprint de 20 metros; a través de la identificación del nivel de velocidad inicial y final de los futbolistas de acuerdo a su posición de juego; la valoración de las variaciones en la velocidad tras la intervención, y el análisis estadístico de la intervención en tres grupos de estudio: grupo 1 o de masaje pre-competencia, grupo 2 o de masaje pre-competencia + stripping y grupo 3 o control. Posteriormente a tres semanas de intervención se obtuvieron resultados clínicos significativos en la ganancia de los niveles de velocidad en los delanteros; y el grupo 2, donde los tiempos de ejecución de las pruebas se redujeron; mientras que estadísticamente los resultaron no fueron significativos.
Description: Soccer is a very practiced sport, worldwide; generating a great demand in the development of techniques that can improve the physical and sports performance of the players, in addition to reducing the incidence rates of sports injuries; in this context, it has been proposed to determine the effects of pre-competition sports massage on the speed of Ambato University Technician Club footballers using the 50 meter race test and the 20 meter sprint test; through the identification of the initial and final speed level of the players according to their playing position; the evaluation of the variations in the speed after the intervention, and the statistical analysis of the intervention in three study groups: group 1 or pre-competition massage, group 2 or pre-competition massage + stripping and group 3 or control. After three weeks of intervention, significant clinical results were obtained in the gain of the speed levels in the strikers; and group 2, where the execution times of the tests were reduced; while statistically the results were not significant.
