Descripción : The accounting management currently, as all aspects of daily life is affected by globalization and proof of this is the existence of International Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards, which, worldwide, are taken into account as guidelines to follow for the correct presentation of the information of the financial statements. In this document IAS 12 INCOME TAX: PROFITS: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN A TAX APPROACH TO AN ACCOUNTING APPROACH, the requirements of the international financial information standards were identified in relation to the income taxes, information was gathered about it, because they are the framework accounting for the management of companies under the regime of the Superintendence of Companies, the agency in the country responsible for overseeing the administration of companies. The Organic Law of the Internal Tax Regime was studied, which is the only legal framework for the payment of Income Tax, together with the Law of Incentive to the Production and Prevention of Fiscal Fraud in Ecuador. Both laws were compared to extract what concerns the calculation of the tax base on which the State is taxed, it was evidenced that, for the fulfillment of both norms, the accounting and tax reconciliation of the items is necessary, which will determine the tax base. During this study, it was evident that the resulting differences are called from the fiscal perspective non-deductible expenses, exempt income, special deductions, among others whose common denominator is that they are subtracted from the utility for the calculation of the tax base. These same differences from the accounting field are called temporary and permanent differences. Then, IAS 12 is created to determine the accounting treatment of income tax and to calculate that tax, temporary differences in the reconciliation must be worked on. Only in nine cases does the collecting body recognize them as a deferred tax and can they be deducted for tax purposes in Ecuador.
