Description: Concentration and Demand Elasticity of the Banking System in Ecuador, the research methodology used in this work maintains a quantitative approach due to the fact that information has been collected secondary account of three accounts considered important in the Financial Sector such as: account assets, account portfolio and passive account. The study population is considered to the National Banks of Ecuador because a sample can be determined in a geographical space but not in a sector such as in this case the Banking Sector. To determine the concentration, the Herfindahl and Hirschman index will be used and the Gretl Econometric Program will be used to relate the different variables. Among the main results in the aforementioned accounts, there is a low concentration in the Financial System and a moderate concentration in the Banking Sector. The demand of both the Banking Sector and the Financial System is relatively inelastic, this means that before a change in the price (interest) does not significantly affect the demand.
