The following Investigation Project had as an objective to identify Candida albicans and Candida glabrata through differential medium CHROMagar Candida to the diagnosis of mycotic vaginosis in women who come to the Gynecology area of the Provincial General Hospital of Latacunga in January-March 2017 period. Methodologically it made a study of descriptive and quantitative character, by applying Lab investigation, field research and documentary with a transverse research design. For the selection of the population it was checked the clinical histories and worked with 70 patients in a reproductive age contemplating ages from 18 until 44 years old who fulfill with the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, besides their participation was previous to one explanation of the project and the respective signature of the consent informed by each participant. The methods used to species identification were; a total cytobacteriological exam for each one of the samples from vaginal secretion; after this, we performed sowing of the vaginal secretion on Sabouraud Dextrose agar for the fungus growth without any distinction of the present species, at the same time we were performing the sowing in CHROMagar Candida of all samples once it was obtained a positive result for both crops sowings and the development of colonies, proceeded to make a germinal tube test was performed with pure strains of Sabouraud dextrose agar to identify if the the species is albicans type or “no albicans” and as confirmation test to identify the Species are read the plates CHROMagar that provide us with the definitive result of the species present in the sample, observing the growth of colonies with own characteristics of the species C. albicans and C. glabrata with colonies blue and mauve respectively. It is concluded from the investigation that the 41,4% of the infections are caused by fungus, from this percentage which correspond to 29 cases, the 82,8% were for Candida albicans with a total of 24 samples and the rest that are 5 which represents the 17,2% presents Candida glabrata. Finally, after making the antifungigma for each one of the samples is noticeable that the spectrum of resistance of C. albicans for antifungals is 0%, while the 20% of C. glabrata strains present resistance to fluconazole. In conclusion, the species that predominates in mycotic infections is Candida albicans followed by Candida glabrata in patients attending the Gynecology area of the Provincial Hospital of Latacunga.es_ES
