Abstract: The present work was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the yield of amaranth (Amaranthus quitensis) in association with leguminous, the research work was carried out in the Experimental Teaching Farm Querochaca, located in the sector of the Tambo, Parish the Matrix, Cevallos, province of Tungurahua. Completely Randomized Block Design (DBCA) was applied with factorial arrangement 2x3 + 1 with 4 replicates. Analyzed the studied variables, it was concluded that the best association of those studied for amaranth cultivation was Amaranthus quitensis, which was more chocho, since with this association the best results were obtained in the variables stem diameter, with values of 0.70 m at 60 days and for yield with an average of 0.205 kg this was probably due to the plants had better conditions of temperature, humidity, availability of nutrients necessary for their development product of this association. From the field observations and the statistical analyzes carried out, it is possible to conclude that the best sowing distance for the cultivation of amaranth associated with legumes was 0,60 cm since it is possible to see better results for plant height with 41,17 cm 60 days and 61,06 m at 90 days, the same way for the stem diameter variable the application of planting distance of 0.60 m is ideal in this crop probably due to the fact that at this distance there is no competition between plants of the same crop or crops associated with nutrients, light, or moisture. It was also possible to determine that the application of planting distance of 0,80 m and 0,60 m had a direct influence on the number of panicles, observing that the greater distance between plants the greater the number of panicles with averages of 2.82 and 2.72 respectively. Statistical tests showed that the A1D2 treatment (A. quitensis + Chocho + 0,60 m) with an average value of 0,245 kg had the best performance in the experiment, which was probably due to the balance between the number of plants per plot and factors such as the presence of nutrients, temperature and humidity. The economic analysis was carried out using the cost - benefit ratio. It is concluded that the A1D2 treatment (A. quitensis + peck + 0.60 m) is the best prospect to be used in this crop since it has the highest benefit - cost ratio $ 2.46.
