Resumen : This research project was aimed to determine how emotional intelligence and marital satisfaction are related to each other in the workers of the company Automotores de la Sierra Ambato S.A. which it was performed in 60 people men and women married between 25 and 50 years old. The variable of emotional intelligence was evaluated with the Salovey and Mayer's Trait Meta-Mood Scale 24 (TMMS-24), while the other variable marital satisfaction was evaluated with Pick and Andrade’s Marital Satisfaction test (MSS-24) The statistical method to test the hypotheses was with, the chi-square test (xa) Which allowed to see that emotional intelligence has an influence with the marital satisfaction. It was identified that the emotional intelligence, in a high range of 73.33% predominates in the evaluated people that means, they are able to perceive the emotions, understand problems, recognize the similar emotions and their relationship with the lived situation in that moment, being the predominant factor evaluated with the emotional attention of 66.67% showing attention. While marital satisfaction in an average range of 71.67% is predominant, it is interpreted that the evaluated people feel certainly in agreement with some of the evaluated ones of their spouse, being here the predominant factor evaluated with the organizational and structural organizations of the spouse of a 60,00% being moderately satisfied.
Descripción : La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar como la inteligencia emocional y la satisfacción marital se relacionan entre sí en los trabajadores de la empresa Automotores de Sierra Ambato S.A. se realizó la aplicación con el universo total de 60 personas casadas entre hombres y mujeres de entre 25 y 50 años de edad. La variable de inteligencia emocional fue evaluada con el test Trait meta-MoodScale 24 (TMMS-24) de Salovey y Mayer, mientras que la variable satisfacción marital fue evaluado con el test de Satisfacción Marital (MSS-24) de Pick y Andrade. El método estadístico para comprobar las hipótesis fue con la comprobación del Chi- cuadrado( xa). El cual permitió verificar que la inteligencia emocional si se relaciona con la satisfacción marital. Se identificó que la inteligencia emocional en un rango alto de 73,33% predomina en los evaluados, es decir, que son capaces de percibir las emociones, entender los problemas, reconocer las emociones similares y su relación con la situación vivida en ese momento, siendo el factor predominante evaluado el de atención emocional de un 66,67% mostrando atención. Mientras que la satisfacción marital en un rango medio de 71,67% predomina interpretándose que los evaluados se sienten ciertamente conformes con algunos de los aspectos evaluados de su conyugue, siendo aquí el factor predominante evaluado el de aspectos organizacionales y estructurales del conyugue de un 60,00% mostrándose moderadamente satisfecho.
