Resumen : The research was conducted in the province of Tungurahua, canton Ambato, sector “The Tropezón” neighborhood “The Seminary” a temperate and dry climate and an average temperature of 14.6 ° C to about 2577 meters above sea level. It is located at 78 ° 37'11 " O of length in relation to Greenwich mean time and 1 ° 14′30″S in relation to the equator. This research work had as its main objective, to assess the sources of animal protein, vegetable and the combination of the two plants more animal in the growth stage of the golden hamster, in order to obtain the best productive parameters. Was performed three treatments and three replications with five animals in each repetition, 15 by treatment giving a total of 45 animals of the same age, sex, body condition and physiological status under a randomized complete block design (RCBD) and comparison of stockings with Tukey to 5 %. The best values to take data on the growth stage during assay development were obtained with the use of a balanced diet that is formed with the T2 animal protein (fish meal), in which, the best reported Hamsters values regarding weight gain, feed conversion and cost - benefit, with mean values of 53,50 g of weight, in regard to gain size the diet T3 vegetable protein more animal protein was the best with averages of 5,09 cm; followed by the T2 animal protein of 4,59 cm; and finally the T1 vegetable protein with 4,17 cm. In relation to food conversion the best was the T2 animal protein (0.30), followed by the T3 vegetable protein more animal protein (0.35) and finally the T1 vegetable protein (0.35) at the end of the test. As regards the cost analysis, the T2 (animal protein), reached the highest relation cost - benefit (81,25%), being the treatment with the best result, followed by the T3 (soybean meal most fishmeal) (34,64 %), and finally the T1vegetable protein (19.06 %), respectively.
