Escuela Quiteña: Identidad cultural y tendencia aplicada al diseño interior
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2019-08) Narváez Lalaleo, Luis Francisco; López Ulloa, Fabián Santiago
The purpose of this research is to study the elements produced in the Escuela Quiteña, by various artists and artisans who embodied a cultural identity that has generated a historical legacy that continues to this day. This movement was developed at the time of the Real Audiencia de Quito, with the passage of time the identity has been diminished and the positioning of the Escuela Quiteña has decreased in front of foreign perspectives, evidencing itself in several areas, punctually in interior design trends, which tends to accept foreign trends as their own. Therefore, this research paper proposes a trend book of interior design based on the study of the Escuela Quiteña and its cultural identity, combining with the aspects that a trend of interior design should consider. In order to determine the elements in which the cultural identity is still manifest, a bibliographic investigation is carried out in which the objects of study of the Escuela Quiteña are delimited, complementing with a field investigation carried out in the goods that maintain the essence of this historical reference, this research modality is also applied to determine the aspects of the interior space that are in trend and, how the object of study is combined with these interior design requirements. The Escuela Quiteña and its cultural identity can be repowered from various perspectives in this project, integrating it into interior design through a detailed interior design trend in a trend book.

The objective was to analyze the semantic qualities of the materials used in Shuar crafts for the application in interior design as a contribution to the rescue and revaluation of cultural identity from the conception of interior design and convergence where the designer becomes aware and acts as an agent culture transmitter. It is for this reason that the present research work has focused on identifying the hierarchy that they have in their commune in terms of trends and the conception of their ancestors, who perceived it as traditions and customs forming part of their own cultural identity before the rest of the society. The data thrown by the research into the semantic qualities of the materials allowed to generate designs for any type of format, whether printed or digital, in the development of this research a methodology was used with a qualitative approach from the theoretical position of Roland Barthes in which talks about the semantics of the object, as a way to find the meanings of these from the point of view associated with the culture, in the relevant case the materials that make up the craft are the objects and the linked culture is the Shuar community of Iniayua belonging to Morona Santiago. Thus the proposal resulting from the field ethnographic research directed me to propose a catalog of interpretation of applicable materials for the semantic interior design of the Shuar crafts. The scope of the project transcends the rescue, revaluation and transmission of ancestral identity and knowledge

Nowadays it can be observed that the iconography embodied in the original garments, are losing their significance on the part of young people who no longer use this type of clothing, which is why it is essential to carry out a study in which it contains the relevant data on the culture, identity, typologies of the clothing and festivities of the community to revalue their significance and use by the new generations. For the study a succession of quantitative and qualitative steps appropriate for the object of study was carried out, starting with an interview with experts to obtain the necessary indicators for the application of the interview, this interview helped significantly to understand the importance of the transmission of knowledge and at the same time determine the types of attire they use for different acts such as the ceremonies, rituals and festivities of the Salasaca community. After the analysis, the community interview is carried out to check the aforementioned and to determine what is the most representative clothing for the community and to derive the corresponding iconographic card from each part of the clothing, with its symbols, iconography, tools and materials, significance. For lego establish the appropriate means for cognitive transmission of ancestral knowledge. For the development of the proposal after the necessary collection of information, it is possible to determine that the most appropriate medium for this transmission to the new generations is the use of technology as a dynamizer of knowledge in a didactic and interactive way, which will help to the community to encourage and revalue the use of the ancestral clothing and in this way to make known to the community the true significance and to make a great contribution to the Heritage intangible Culture. Finally, from this study can be expanded to the rest of the clothing of the community and at the same time be a hotbed of research for the rest of the country's communities to consolidate the oral heritage that will be beneficial to maintain the identity and heritage of the communities.

Furthermore, as such design, in all levels are constantly changing, through large changes of paradigms, and this constant change and transformation, architectural design, partly has lost its primary focus; that is to solve real and not artificial problems without creating new social problems. So today, designers have focused on generating proposals aimed at industrialization, and in the process has stopped generating designs with content and symbolic value itself, for a particular social group, which satisfy artificial needs, they create social problems, which can innocently consent or be able to disappear cultural identity of a people. In this sense, this paper aims to study the materials and techniques constructive Andean indigenous people Saraguro, since these materials and construction techniques are the cultural expression that reflects the lifestyle of the people, is the essence of an idiosyncrasy local, regional and constitutes an authentic heritage that includes traditional knowledge of the people, also the houses of the indigenous people are the expression of the personality of its inhabitant, who is both producer-consumer of your home (habitat), built in clear testimony of his intelligence to properly use the resources around them and to fend off the hostile forces of the medium. Then it goes to an ethnographic study, from exploration, understanding and interpretation of value systems, (Lozano, Kury, 2018) "The ancestral knowledge are stored in the communities and in the minds of our elders, they are carriers and is in us investigate and spread our culture"

Therefore, it aims to identify the landscape components in terms of: visual, tactile and olfactory sensations. In order to develop a landscape proposal with an identity that links society with its values, principles and cultural knowledge. By using a qualitative research, the social reality could be understood in a natural context and thanks to the use of investigative techniques such as interviewing, cultural surveys, analysis of bibliographic documents and photographic studies, information could be obtained without judgments, as presented and consequently identify its meaning. (Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño, Artes y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Modas., 2018-02) Toscano Pinto, Paulina Abigail; López Barrionuevo, Nancy Margarita
The cityscape of the city of Ambato has real estate and facades that wakes the interest for knowing the historical content of its creation and memorable attachment to its citizens; after the earthquake in 1949, the old town suffered several damage which ended up destroying the architectural vestiges which were linked in the process of consolidation; in order to convey the legacy of those who remain to this day, those with characteristics such as its reference of location, architecture and cultural repercussion. The present research emphasizes the importance of communicating the cultural identity through these visual elements in the design of the garment as it is a field that addresses the collective understanding and makes possible the predisposition to create a genuine tendency for local aesthetics. The methodology used in this research allowed the collection of historical, social and cultural information subject to establishing which buildings are considered milestones and why they are distinguished; these characteristics were also established in relation to the assessment of milestones in young people and their preferences to represent cultural identity through casual unisex clothing and interviews were conducted with a suitable perception in the historical, architectural and fashion design field that corroborate the previous inquiry. Through an iconographic analysis proposed in the Panofsky model and adapted to the description of the selected buildings, it was possible to disaggregate the content in 3 phases: Pre-iconographic with visible details, location and date of establishment, the Iconographic phase, which emphasizes the history and necessity of creation, for its later iconological phase that describes the meaning and connotations present in the facade of buildings and the internal configuration for squares. After this analysis, the creative elements of each milestone were extracted as they are, the shapes, colors and textures that are reflected in the design of the clothing through the creative process in garments selected as unisex. The results are justified in the presentation of a sketchbook, this way extend the opportunity to use the local environment in the universes of the dress, managing to prioritize the city of Ambato as motive manager with meaning and history.
