Escuela Quiteña: Identidad cultural y tendencia aplicada al diseño interior
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2019-08) Narváez Lalaleo, Luis Francisco; López Ulloa, Fabián Santiago
The purpose of this research is to study the elements produced in the Escuela Quiteña, by various artists and artisans who embodied a cultural identity that has generated a historical legacy that continues to this day. This movement was developed at the time of the Real Audiencia de Quito, with the passage of time the identity has been diminished and the positioning of the Escuela Quiteña has decreased in front of foreign perspectives, evidencing itself in several areas, punctually in interior design trends, which tends to accept foreign trends as their own. Therefore, this research paper proposes a trend book of interior design based on the study of the Escuela Quiteña and its cultural identity, combining with the aspects that a trend of interior design should consider. In order to determine the elements in which the cultural identity is still manifest, a bibliographic investigation is carried out in which the objects of study of the Escuela Quiteña are delimited, complementing with a field investigation carried out in the goods that maintain the essence of this historical reference, this research modality is also applied to determine the aspects of the interior space that are in trend and, how the object of study is combined with these interior design requirements. The Escuela Quiteña and its cultural identity can be repowered from various perspectives in this project, integrating it into interior design through a detailed interior design trend in a trend book.

“Re-significación de materiales y técnicas constructivas andinas del pueblo indígena Saraguro y su aplicación en el diseño interior
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño, Artes y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2019-02) Lozano Chalán, Edinson Fabricio; Nuñez Torres, Sandra Hipatia
Today we are witnessing the growing cultural miscegenation, it has generated a great social impact on indigenous peoples of Ecuador and especially in the indigenous Saraguro, in all known cultural expressions, such as clothing, food, agricultural production, architecture, etc., obviously some more than others in this regard will talk about the impact it has had on the indigenous architecture and more importantly, involvement in their habitat, modus vivendi, the connection between man - nature and ancestral knowledge about building that has been most affected in recent times. Furthermore, as such design, in all levels are constantly changing, through large changes of paradigms, and this constant change and transformation, architectural design, partly has lost its primary focus; that is to solve real and not artificial problems without creating new social problems. So today, designers have focused on generating proposals aimed at industrialization, and in the process has stopped generating designs with content and symbolic value itself, for a particular social group, which satisfy artificial needs, they create social problems, which can innocently consent or be able to disappear cultural identity of a people. In this sense, this paper aims to study the materials and techniques constructive Andean indigenous people Saraguro, since these materials and construction techniques are the cultural expression that reflects the lifestyle of the people, is the essence of an idiosyncrasy local, regional and constitutes an authentic heritage that includes traditional knowledge of the people, also the houses of the indigenous people are the expression of the personality of its inhabitant, who is both producer-consumer of your home (habitat), built in clear testimony of his intelligence to properly use the resources around them and to fend off the hostile forces of the medium. Then it goes to an ethnographic study, from exploration, understanding and interpretation of value systems, (Lozano, Kury, 2018) "The ancestral knowledge are stored in the communities and in the minds of our elders, they are carriers and is in us investigate and spread our culture"
