These disjunctures have disturbed the dynamics and mental well-being of household members, which affects the young people's self-steem. In this context, the purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between family communication and self-esteem. A simple random probability sampling was employed, covering 377 university students. The study was located in a post-positivist paradigm, with a nonexperimental design of quantitative approach, with a descriptive-correlational level of research and cross-sectional in nature. Data were collected through the application of the Parent/Adolescent Family Communication Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Among the most outstanding results, it is evident that 47.5% of the students maintain a high level of communication with their mothers, while 49.3% exhibit a low level of communication with respect to their fathers. Likewise, 50.7% show high self-esteem, while 25.2% show low self-esteem. Although a positive relationship was identified between family communication and self-esteem, it is important to note that this assessment is of low magnitude, indicating that as family communication varies, so does self-esteem in students, although in a limited wayItem La Neurociencia Social como herramienta del Trabajo Social una nueva perspectiva.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2021-10) Vargas Nuñez, Karina Alexandra; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresABSTRACT: Research advances in neurosciences have proven the link between cognition and emotion that has provided foundations for understanding the neuronal and psychobiological bases of human behavior. In this context a research developed by members of the Social Communication career to the university community at “Universidad Técnica de Ambato” (UTA) in May 2015 - Ecuador, contributes with important data to be considered in this investigation: 95% of the public considers there is a need for an insertion of scientific, cultural and educational contents in social media. Alluding to social responsibility and satisfying the needs and requirements of a seeking-for-knowledge society, the present study covers results based in own experience and the methodology regarding to the production of audiovisual contents placed in the Web 2.0 community; aiming to achieve a long-distance educational, cultural and entertainment medium. We used experimental investigation methodology to visualize the impact of the title and keywords over the number of views of a scientific video in the YouTube platform. Two similar videos were produced and considered for this research; both of them were uploaded to the same channel in order to have impartial conditions. At first, they are titled in a very general way, without giving much detail of specific topics covered in them. Then, after a considerable period of nearly two years, the title and keywords of one of the videos are changed. The favorable results were quite visible when the actualized video reached a “viral” category over passing the 500.000 views threshold, generating public opinion and feedback phenomena. The unedited video on the other hand, stayed stable with a very slow increase of viewers. Production under this scheme puts into practice a series of consolidated procedures in scientific communication and educommunication. Television and radio techniques applied to the Web 2.0, aiming to present local cultural content, can be effectively disseminated by choosing the precise words so the title is specific, concise and startling.Item Maternidad universitaria y el impacto generado al asumir esta doble condición(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2018-09) Criollo Espín Cristina Alexandra, Cristina Alexandra; Altamirano Altamirano, Silvia JovannaThis article aims to identify the difficulties and the impact that this double condition of student-mother produces.
