(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-08) Paredes Coronel, Angie Gabriela; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth Elizabeth
The protocols of intervention are important tools for elderly care, and biopsychosocial intervention in gerontological centers is essential to ensure the comprehensive well-being of older adults. In this context, the present study titled "Biopsychosocial Intervention Protocols in Gerontological Centers" aimed to analyze these protocols. The research employed a qualitative approach with descriptive, analytical, bibliographic methods, among others, and utilized structured interviews consisting of 4 to 10 questions with experts in gerontology, professionals from gerontological centers, and older adults in Archidona, Ecuador. The application of this methodology allowed for the identification that, biologically, although there is periodic medical attention and adapted physical activities, the consistency and frequency of these interventions vary significantly, affecting the health and well-being of the residents. From a psychological perspective, despite the availability of evaluations and therapies, many older adults face significant challenges such as loneliness and inadequate emotional support. Regarding the social sphere, while integration activities and family support are promoted, it is crucial to strengthen support networks and improve interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure comprehensive care that fully addresses the biological, psychological, and social needs of this vulnerable population. In conclusion, the identified protocols include comprehensive health evaluations, physical activity programs, psychological therapies, nutritional supervision, and fall prevention. Although these protocols are theoretically efficient, their practical implementation has shown significant variations. Additionally, in both contexts, there is a lack of effective coordination among different professionals, namely doctors, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, which remains a major barrier to comprehensive care. Implementing training programs for staff and families is also crucial to keeping the best practices and strategies in elderly care up to date

The social group of interest for the research analysis has been determined in the group of the Elderly with ages from 65 years onwards. Being a group of double vulnerability first for being a woman and second for belonging to the group of the Elderly or Senior Citizens. Based on the field investigation, it was determined which are the social factors that affect gender violence in the Píllaro canton, determining as a result economic factors, family circle, bad relationships, culture and religion. With the creation of the Comprehensive Organic Law to Prevent and Eradicate Violence Against Women (2018), Ecuador intended to reduce rates of gender violence, but despite current legal regulations, the reality is different. Day by day we see how women die as a result of femicide, thousands of women are victims of some type of violence, be it physical, psychological or sexual, as well as hundreds of disappeared women in Ecuador. For this reason, the main purpose of this investigation is to show what the shortcomings are and what mechanisms the Ecuadorian State must adopt to eradicate once and for all gender violence not only in the rural sector but also at the national level, for women can feel free in a society that respects their human and constitutional rights

There is an acceptance of social services and at the same time questions that arose from the non-participation of the actors in the planning of actions aimed at promoting active aging. Mission as My best years through tentative and guarantee objectives are intended to show that it is necessary to give attention to those who need it most and to whom we give gratitude, respect and consideration, but in reality what is expected is to maintain the hegemonic structures of the same State, save resources, being important and necessary the presence of professionals with relevance in Social Work that far from being participants in processes of structural changes have become remunerated instruments that affect maintaining the status quo.

The present investigation has like subject: "The abandonment of the Greater Adult and the right of congruos foods in the parish Juan Montalvo of Cantón Latacunga", the same that is the point of departure of the present work. The abandonment is the helplessness of those people who, for some reason, are forced to protect. It is evident that in our society there is a high percentage of older adults who are in a situation of abandonment, since when they are considered as a burden by their relatives they are abandoned, some are in asylums while others in the streets asking for alms and exposed to many types of abuse and dangers including death. This leads to the violation of their fundamental rights established in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador. Because of the foregoing, this work was carried out with the purpose of publicizing the obligation that exists to give the respective alimony pension to the elderly, since due to their age they are unable to work and this makes them economically dependent on their families. The doctrine states that the food law requires that everyone enjoy everything for their subsistence, this means, an adequate standard of living in food, nutrition, health, education, clothing, and housing. With the right to an adequate standard of living older adults will be able to enjoy and live with dignity the last stage of their life, guaranteeing their physical integrity through their rights. The right to food congruos are those that enable the fed to subsist modestly in a manner corresponding to their social position, this provision of food is intended to provide a better quality of life to the abandoned older adult. It is a constitutional right to guarantee a dignified life for the elderly.
