    La intervención del trabajo social y acceso a la Seguridad Social (IESS) para artistas y gestores culturales de Tungurahua

    This research addressed the issue of the impact of the intervention of Social Work in the affiliation to social security for artists and cultural managers; because, despite the fact that in Ecuador there is the possibility of affiliation since 2018, most members of this social group are unaware of the process to access this right. The main objective of the research was to describe how Social Work affects the affiliation procedure to the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security, of the members of the Single Registry of Artists and Cultural Managers. A methodology with a quali-quantitative approach was proposed, descriptive in scope and based on the review of academic literature for the theoretical support of the topic addressed in this research. The results obtained establish that there is a willingness on the part of artists and cultural managers to be informed and to access social security benefits; however, most of the people under study report not having the information or the necessary economic resources to exercise this right. However, the significance of the intervention of a Social Work professional stands out, not only in the process of affiliation to social security, but also in the aspiration to have comprehensive and permanent care for this social group.
