    This study of suicidal ideation and reasons to live was conducted specifically in patients with diabetes mellitus type II in the Provincial Teaching Hospital Ambato, the study sample consisted of 74 patients who were evaluated by the scale of ideation suicide Beck which assesses the risk of suicidal thoughts and inventory reasons to live that evaluates the levels of importance of different reasons to live, in order to demonstrate whether suicidal ideation influences the reasons for living patients. The beneficiaries of this research were patients who were given optimal care based on their need and also to the general public that based on the present study includes information and results that contribute to the realization of future studies. It should be noted that suicidal ideation are thoughts that are characterized by the person violates his own integrity and reasons to live, are the factors or reasons that an individual has to develop in your life successfully. The results showed that increased risk of suicidal ideation lower level of importance the reasons to live, in the same way to lower risk of suicidal ideation greater level of importance the reasons to live.

    Bertalanffy describes that a system cannot deal or be described in individual form, which means that it bears in mind to the subject as long as this one belongs to a system, hereby on having be studied to the subject from this perspective there appear three elementary rules that any system possesses, include these: a system develops inside other one, a system is flexible and his functioning depends on his structure. Aaron Beck, cognitive behavioral exponent of the current, adds that the subject tends to get depressed on the basis of a triad that he proposes that the subjects in this condition tend to present a negative vision of if same, of the environment and of the future hereby the impact that has in to think, to be sorry and to act allows him to develop depressive symptomatology being one of these symptoms it is the suicidal thoughts who accompanies so much of physical as psychological symptoms. Structurally this this investigation based under two criteria: quantitative and qualitative, this includes the obtaining result on the basis of tests that throw numerical and descriptive categories; the modalities used for the investigation are bibliographical documentary and field investigation, in such a way that there is validated the correlation of the proposed variables.
