The sample consisted of 50 Ecuadorian athletes between 18 and 50 years of age. The instruments used were Omron HBF-514C digital scales, which estima t e body composition by measuring the electrical resistance of the body. The analysis shows a diverse distribution of body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, visceral fat level, muscle mass and body circumference index, providing a complete picture of health and fitness. Therefore, they give as results, in women an average BMI value of 27.40; while in men their BMI is 24.79, as well as their body fat defined in the average of women is 33.41 and in men it is 22. 96; following the same order in terms of skeletal muscles we have values of 28.45 and 36.07; while in terms of visceral fat we have 12 and 12.31, as well as metabolic age we have 35.09 and 31.69, ending with waist/hip with 0.87 and 0.90.Item CONDUCTAS ALIMENTARIAS DE RIESGO DE MALNUTRICIÓN E IMAGEN CORPORAL EN ESCOLARES Y ADOLESCENTES DE UNA POBLACIÓN RURAL ECUATORIANA(2025-06-17) Espín Molina, Amanda Rosmery; Arráiz de Fernández, Carolina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaRisky eating behaviors and malnutrition represent important health problems in humanity, as well as body image has a great influence on self-esteem. The objective of the research is to determine the risky eating behaviors of malnutrition and body image in schoolchildren and adolescents of a rural Ecuadorian population. The type of study is quantitative in approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational in scope. Developed in a rural area, La Victoria parish, Pujilí canton in the province of Cotopaxi (Ecuador), in the period from May to August 2024. With a population of 216 participants, with a representative sample of 152 participants, of which 21 are schoolchildren and 131 adolescents. Two questionnaires were applied: the Brief Questionnaire of Risky Eating Behaviors (CBCAR) with validity and Cronbach's alpha of 0.83 and the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) with validity and Cronbach's alpha of 0.96. A predominance in adolescents was found 86.18%, with a slightly higher distribution in men 51.97%, academically the majority belong to 7th-10th grade at 52.63%, it is observed that 90.79% do not present risk of eating disorder, however 9.21% present risk and are adolescents. Both children and adolescents do not present a significant concern about their body image with 74.34% of adolescents and 7.89% of boys; finally, it is observed that the majority of participants without risk of eating disorder are not worried about their body image 75%. In conclusion, the majority do not present a risk of eating disorders, nor significant concern about their body image, although further research is suggested to better understand the relationship between body dissatisfaction and eating behaviors.Item IMAGEN CORPORAL Y SU RELACIÓN CON EL CONSUMO DE ALCOHOL EN ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Moreno Gallo, Jeremeis Stive; García Ramos, Diana CarolinaBody image is the set of perceptions, thoughts, emotions and behaviors that a person has in relation to his or her own body, while alcohol consumption is a public proble m worldwide, being a substance of greater consumption in adolescence. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between body image and alcohol consumpt i o n in adolescents. The sample used was 120 students between 13 and 18 years of age from an educational unit. The research had a non-experimental quantitative approach with a cross-sectional and correlational scope. The Body Image Questionnaire (BSQ) created by Cooper, Taylor and Fairburn in 1996 and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) created by the World Health Organization in 1992 were used to measure the variables. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between these two variables (Rho= 0.145 p>0.05), as for sex there is no statistically significant differe n c e between men (M=1.85) and women (M=2.96) with a (U=985, p>0.05).Item IMAGEN CORPORAL Y EL BIENESTAR PSICOLÓGICO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Chérrez Valle, Holguer Daniel; Garcia Ramos, Diana CarolinaBody image is the mental representation that each person has of his or her own body and psychological well-being arises when the state of mental functioning is in its best condition, discarding negative aspects. The main purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between body image and psychological well-being in university students. The study had a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, correlational and crosssectional scope. The sample consisted of 101 university students, 79 men and 22 women between 18 and 30 years of age. The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) adapted by Solano and Cano in 2010 was used to evaluate the body image variable and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale adapted to Spanish by Díaz in 2006 was used to evaluate psychological well-being. The results showed that there is no correlation between the variables; they do not present body image concerns (80.2%), and show high psychological well-being (39.6%). No relevant differences were found in psychological well -being according to sex.Item SATISFACCIÓN DE LA IMAGEN CORPORAL Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA ANSIEDAD EN ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Campos Paredes, Katheryn Andrea; Flores Hernández, Verónica FernandaBody image is the perception that a person has of their own body, which can be either positive or negative. A negative perception can result in physical and emotional discomfort. The objective of this research was to de-termine the relationship between the level of body image satisfaction and anxiety in adolescents since this stage led to several physical and emotional changes. The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) was used to evaluate the level of body image dissatisfaction and Beck’s Anxiety Inventory (BAI) was used to calculate anxiety. This study was managed under a quantitative approach of non-experimen tal design with a descriptive-correlational scope with a cross-sectional section. Based on the results, it was concluded that there is a mild positive correlation, which indicates that the greater the dissatisfaction of the body image, the greater the likelihood of experiencing anxiety symptoms. Likewise, there is low dissatisfaction with body image and high levels of severe anxiety and statisticall y significant differences according to sex.Item SATISFACCIÓN CON LA APARIENCIA MUSCULAR Y EL BIENESTAR PSICOLÓGICO EN DEPORTISTAS ADULTOS JÓVENES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-06) Aimara Guachi, Kevin David; Velasteguí Hernández, Diana CatalinaSatisfaction with muscular appearance and psychological well-being is a topic that, although little studied, may offer a better understanding in the scientific community. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between satisfaction with muscula r appearance and psychological well-being in young adult athletes. The sample consiste d of 118 participants, including women and men, ranging in age from 18 to 35 years. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, non-experim ental design, cross - sectional and correlational in scope. The following instruments were used: the Muscula r Appearance Satisfaction Scale (MASS) by Mayville et al. (2002) and the Psychologi c a l Well-Being Scale by Carol Ryff (1989), the version adapted to Spanish by Díaz et al. (2006). Pearson's test was applied to determine the correlation. The results showed a slight positive relationship between both variables (R= 0.343 p< 0.001). Therefore, it is concluded that the greater the satisfaction with muscular appearance, the greater the psychological wellbeing of the athletes. Cl. Mg.The present research was carried out with the aim of identifying the relationship between the risk of addiction to social networks and concern about body image in teenagers. It is through social networks that stereotypes and ideals of beauty are disseminated, especially affecting adolescents, generating concern and dissatisfaction with their body image and increasing the risk of generating some type of problem related to the perception of this image or self-esteem. For this purpose, the Adolescent addiction risk Scale to social networks and the internet and the Body Shape Questionnaire were applied to a population of 92 students between 15 and 17 years old that belong to the Educational Unit “Alicia Marcuard de Yerovi” that is located in the city of Salcedo. The methodology used in this research was quantitative since the data obtained were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS, the correlation was identified by Spearman's Rho test in which it was determined that there is no relationship between the risk variables of addiction to social networks and concern about body image (Rho= -0.103, p>0.05). According to the results, the majority of the studied population does not present a risk of addiction to social networks and the internet, likewise, the majority has a level of no concern about body image. Regarding the comparison of concern about body image between the sex of the participants, it was found that there are significant differences between men and women. The women have higher levels of concern about body image. The main goal of this project was to demonstrate the relationship between body image and irrational beliefs in user’s gym. It was applied to 124 participants, of which, through exclusion criteria, the population was reduced to 103 users. The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) was used to evaluate body image, which measures concern about body image; while, the Irrational Beliefs Questionnaire (TCI) was used to evaluate irrational beliefs. The analysis of these variables was performed through the Sperm's Rho test, we worked with the level of concern for body image (CI) and the dimensions and/or factors of the TCI, being able to observe that there is no significant correlation between the variables (with r= .246 F1; r= .215 F2; r= .252 F7), which suggests that, if the frequency of worry about HF increases, the ideas belonging to irrational beliefs such as: Need for Approval, High self-expectations and Helplessness in the face of change, increase. There is an inverse proportional correlation between the body image concern variable and factor 7 (Problem avoidance), / with r= -, 196, which indicates that as the frequency of concern decreases, the ideas belonging to the irrational belief of Avoidance of problems increases or vice versa. Moreover, it was also found that the relationship between the variable of body image concern and the age range has a frequency of 41, 7% lower than the expected of .58, that means the variable is independent of age
