    “Pie plano y su relación con la escoliosis en escolares”

    This study addressed the presence of flat feet and their relationship to scoliosis, the study population was in school children belonging to the Center for Child Development "Romina I and II" and the Educational Unit "Los Sauces" in the city of Ambato. A postural assessment sheet was used to analyze the posture of each child in an integral manner, as well as the Adams test for the diagnosis of scoliosis, in addition to the conventional plantings to assess the type of alteration Is manifested in the feet of schoolchildren. The investigated population was 117 schoolchildren between 3 and 13 years of age in which flat feet were found in 53.8% of schoolchildren, with the male gender being more likely to be 58.7%. Scoliosis was present in 62% of schoolchildren, and in the male group it was more frequent with 63%; in relation to the two variables, the results were that 48.7% of the students evaluated presented both flat feet and scoliosis. The children of school age are prone to suffer alterations in their locomotor apparatus the same that must be taken into account to avoid future complications of health, in addition it was concluded that the variables studied have dependence on each other since by checking the hypothesis With frequency statistics, scoliosis is associated in 90.4% with the presence of flat feet.
