Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2022-09-13) Núñez Gancino, David Patricio; Viteri Medina, Galo AlejandroIn this research project, it was carried out in the Province of Tungurahua, within the Santiago de Quero Canton, taking as a case study the building that in years ago functioned as the Patronato de Acción Social "Nuestra Señora del Monte", currently the infrastructure for which it was planned as a use of the patronage, the “El Buen Samaritano” Residential Gerontological Center works, which provides reception services, care for the elderly, and medical services by the occupational staff of the Gerontological Center, with the main beneficiaries being the 20 adults older people who are found in a state of vulnerability, extreme poverty in the Quero Canton. The study of the research is focused on the critical paradigm that will enable the analysis and interpretation of the existing social realities between the elderly and the gerontological centers specialized in their care. Likewise, through the analysis of the infrastructure of the Gerontological Center, possible solutions will be sought that will solve the shortcomings, needs and requirements identified in each space that makes up the Gerontological Center. To finalize the purpose of the investigation, as mentioned, is the search for possible adequate solutions, implementation of the regulations for accessibility to the physical environment, safety regulations, anthropometric dimensions, which will be reflected in the development of an interior design proposal, improving both the interior spaces of the Gerontological Center, as well as contributing to an improvement in the quality of life of older adults so they can feel comfortable, calm and safe, and can enjoy individual a dependence when carrying out their activities.
