Social networks Twitter and Facebook provide space where users search for information, engage in conversations, seek entertainment and interact and integrate into a virtual network that allows them greater participation, unlike radio, television or the press, which are traditional media that do not they allow to interact with the environment instantaneously, these are not in danger of disappearing but they must be in constant updating of the technological tools to not lose validity. The social networks Twitter and Facebook offer tools such as Fan page, Hashtag, Tweets and states that offer the possibility of converting users into passive actors and creators of information. In addition, sharing ideas on different platforms is a new way to communicate and disseminate information instantly, massively and free of charge. Digital journalism is a journalistic work in a free and personalized way where you can generate your own content without having to follow a media or editor, there are tools, such as the transmission of multimedia content, that is, audio, video, text, Real-time photography where communication links are increasingly closer. The purpose of making digital journalism is to research, broadcast, and continue to feed the contents on the network, for its mass reach of dissemination and why it has a feedback option that makes communication and users closer. With the implementation of journalism in the social networks Twitter and Facebook by the students of Communication of the Technical University of Ambato will make that the users do not wait for the schedule of the news, otherwise, they receive information of immediate form and relocated, that is to say, for people anywhere on the planet who own the internet and an account on the mentioned social networks. The study problem was delimited taking into account 313 legally enrolled students, from the first to the tenth semester of Communication of the Technical University of Ambato. The survey was used as a research technique that allowed to collect real information that after processing, tabulating and graphing, facilitated the analysis and interpretation of results with the help of the SPSS digital program.
