Item Caracterización de la curva de consumo diario de agua potable de la zona rural del cantón Baños de agua santa, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-02) Zabala Ibarra, Mercy Lizeth; Castro Solórzano, Fidel AlbertoThe lack of studies on the demand for drinking water generates problems in the equitable distribution of this resource, in addition, poor planning of water infrastructure works generates problems in water quality, consequently, the need arises to carry out a characterization of the consumption curve and know its behavior. It began with the collection of data on the number of users in the La Pampa sector and the rural Ulba parish, 128 homes were selected using two sampling methods: Probabilistic and Simple Random, with the defined sample, measurements of drinking water consumption were made. for 45 days. To obtain future consumption, values obtained in daily consumption were used, the Gumbel and Pearson III method, which are probabilistic methods that allow estimating maximum flows of the drinking water distribution system in different return periods. Surveys were also carried out to determine per capita consumption and, to obtain the pressure of different types of housing, a 240 PSI manometer was used. Hourly consumption was also determined by installing video cameras in the meters with the purpose of recording 24 hours during 7 days a week. As a result, the tabulation, analysis and interpretation of data was carried out, resulting in the average daily consumption of the inhabitants, average number of users per-home, consumption patterns, and home pressures, which were represented through graphs, tables and georeferencing in specialized software.
