Cl. Mg.
Adolescence represents a periodo of significant changes that can have a positive or negative impact in the child´s life, not to mention the easy access to alcoholic beverages and discomfort associated with the family, school, social and personal environment. The objective of the research was to analyze the relationship between alcohol use and suicidal ideation in adolescents, through out a quantitative, descriptive-correlational and crosssectional study with a population of 92 adolescents between 12- and 17-year-old. The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and the Suicide Intent Scale (SSI) were administered, identifying the harmful use of alcohol and acute level of suicidal ideation present in the youth population without a statistically significant difference between sexes, finally a low positive correlation between the variables is established, thus determining the importance of continuing with relevant studies for prevention, detection and treatment of this problem in the population studied.
