Item El wayfinding como un recurso de diseño de espacios interiores para el desarrollo infantil(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2019-08) Vaca Beltrán, Evelyn Andrea; Velasco Espín, Paola CristinaThis research is focused in the possibility of developing a system that allows children to feel comfortable, where they can walk easily. In this sense, wayfinding has been considered as a good method for indoor spaces, intending to integrate and orientate children in unexplored spaces, by means of multisensory activities and help them to better integrate with other classroom mates. In this sense, daily teaching becomes necessary to stimulate learning in a comfortable environment that promotes imagination and creativity as well as to contribute to improve the aesthetic of the classroom itself, focusing on children comfort and integration. The main purpose of this research is to analyze wayfinding and playfinding as a viable resource to develop indoor spaces that could be eventually applied to improve children learning at kinder level. In this sense wayfinding characteristics will be identified and analyzed in order to be included as viable parameters for indoor – space design. In addition, personnel will be trained in the use of multisensory spaces for children learning as well as the development of procedures that contribute to improve children skills and abilities. As a result, it is also expected that the interest in learning as well as interaction between different areas will be increased. Therefore, a navigation and orientation system is proposed in order to contribute to children’s learning. In addition, this research is quite important, since the use of wayfinding for the design of indoor learning spaces will help to stimulate children’s curiosity, motivation, comfort and learning, focusing on functional, formal and technical aspects according to the requirements of teachers and children that ultimately lead to improve learning in a comfortable, safe and friendly environment.
