The present study focused on the evaluation of the drinking water distribution network to determine its hydraulic conditions and subsequent proposal of the improved hydraulic network. This occurred due to the problems caused by the inadequate management and control of the distribution network, which leads to a high rate of unaccounted for water and intermittent service. The field study began with the cadastre of the existing distribution network and the hydraulic evaluation of the case, after which the topographic survey of the study area was started, the different design parameters were determined with the help of the Database of the Belisario Quevedo Drinking Water Administrative Board (JAAPBQ). Finally, the evaluation and diagnosis of the current system was carried out, determining that a redesign proposal is necessary. The proposed distribution network is made up of main or transport pipelines, main and secondary pipelines with a total redesigned length of 7.51 km. The hydraulic design was analyzed under critical consumption conditions in the dynamic and static method with the use of the EPANET software, taking into account the design parameters established in the CPE INEN 5 Part 9.1:1992 standard. Finally, as a result it is delivered: evaluation matrices, calculation memory and plans of the current and redesigned distribution network.
