Introduction: Biosecurity is a set of norms and preventive measures that maintain control of occupational risk factors, such as chemical and physical biological risks. Objective: To analyze the level of knowledge and perception of biosafety measures in nursing students. Methods: the study used a non-experimental design with a quantitative crosssectional approach, with a population of 150 sixth and seventh semester students of the Technical University of Ambato, Ecuador; through a survey with a validity of 98% and a reliability of alpha. Cronbach's score of 0.737. Results: when analyzing the results, the level of knowledge of the students was positive since their knowledge is reliable with 64%. However, a lower reliability was evidenced in the types of isolates. Conclusions: the results obtained in the present investigation allow us to conclude that the sixth and seventh semester students have an adequate level of knowledge about biosafety measures, waste classification, use of gloves and masks, and hand washing, which indicates that these will be put into practice and accidents will be avoided.
