    The analysis of recreational activities is of great importance as it covers several topics related to tourism and education. Therefore, its objective is to investigate the relationship between recreational activities and millennial tourism in the urban area of Ambato, in order to identify the city's recreational offerings and its millennial segment preferences. The importance of the study lies in implementing a recreational activity to attract this segment that seeks innovative, sustainable, technological, and authentic experiences through experiences that connect with the interests of this segment, who prioritize their needs based on interaction during their trips. The methodology applied in the research is based on a mixed approach, with a descriptive research scope. In addition, instruments such as observation sheets visiting museums, country houses, parks, and shopping centers were used for direct observation of existing recreational activities, and surveys were applied to 250 people from the millennial segment based on age range, in order to analyze and observe their tourism preferences. Results show that Ambato has a wide range of cultural and environmental tourism offerings, however, it is not aligned with the preferences and expectations of this segment. Based on the data obtained, an escape room based on Ambato's history and culture is proposed. This room will involve solving puzzles using technology, aiming to innovate the city's tourism offerings.
