In the geronological center it has been shown that this population has limitations in terms of their activities in outdoor spaces, which could generate monotony and isolation, which in turn could result in negative changes in their mood and behavior Based on the above, the objective of this study was to evaluate therapeutic gardens as an alternative to improve the emotional, psychological and physical state of older adults will improve their energy level. The therapeutic gardens have as main objective the recovery or rehabilitation of the users through the different therapeutic potentials offered by the different types of existing vegetation, through the texture, color, size, smell, shape; benefiting the emotional, psychological and physiological state of all the people who visit the area. The proposal is to create recreation and entertainment areas for the elderly and staff of the Caiam Patate gerontologist center, located in Patate-Tungurahua, incorporating activities that will be carried out in the place, taking into account the current situation of the elderly. It proposes taking advantage of a rest area that would help improve the quality of life, on the other hand, physical therapy and mental therapy areas will be applied, giving them a space to improve the quality of life of the elderly living in the asylum. Through the observation and survey an evaluation of the place will be made and you will obtain the necessary requirements to improve asylum. Taking as reference material, vegetation and areas of different kinds that have been implemented in similar projects in other countries.
