The general objective of the present research was to know the effectiveness of the application of relaxation techniques on anxious symptoms in university students. Because this population does not receive support for the management of this type of condition. Regarding the methodology used, a quantitative, quasi-experimental longitudinal cohort approach was maintained. With a population of 300 students from the Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Sports major, with non-probabilistic convenience sampling, a sample of 33 students was obtained. The information was collected using the Hamilton anxiety scale to evaluate anxious symptoms, which was used before and after the training. The training taught three types of relaxation techniques. Which were Jacobson's progressive relaxation, Schultz's autogenic training and Labrador's breathing control training. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26, in which the results obtained indicated that the group presented severe anxiety. Through the paired student's T analysis, it was known that relaxation techniques are effective in anxiety symptomatology in university students.
