Item Determinación de Vitamina B12 y su relación con el Polimorfismo de células rojas en pacientes Alcoholicos(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Laboratorio Clínico, 2016-10-01) Quispe Ramírez, Magaly Esther; Escobar Suárez, Mónica Tatiana Lcda. Msc.The following research was made in order to determine vitamin B12 and relate polymorphism in red cells, in alcoholic patients attending the International Movement 24 Hours "GROUP LATACUNGA" In the present study it had the participation of 40 patients with alcoholic history of approximately 7 to 12 years of consumption, also of treatments that in many cases as a result, they come to the International Movement 24 hours Alcoholics Anonymous "GROUP LATACUNGA" in a time range of about 4 to 6 years, blood sampling for analysis of the determination of vitamin B12 was performed and to perform the blood smear which allowed me to evaluate polymorphism in red cells or red blood cells, and and meet the objectives in research, with the results in vitamin B12 80% are the values decreased, while the polymorphism had a 82.5% what is the Macrocytosis and 67.5% of hypersegmentation neutrophils, giving record what is characteristic megaloblastic anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency in alcoholic patients. Hypothesis testing was performed using the statistical Student t-test for independent samples which resulted in having a margin of error = 0.000 which is less than 0.005 which is the level of significance thus rejecting the hypothesis null and accepting AC which mentions that decreased levels of vitamin B12 in conjunction with red cell polymorphism that is macrocytosis and hypersegmentation neutrophil, usually seen in megaloblastic anemia in patients with alcoholic history.
