Item Los costos ambientales en el sector textil de jeans: caso lavanderías de Pelileo-Tungurahua-Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Contabilidad y Auditoría. Carrera Contabilidad y Auditoría, 2017-12) Quinaluisa Gualpa, Cristina Zulay; DT - Sánchez Herrera, Bertha JeanethThe present research project aims to analyze the representativeness of environmental costs in the textile sector of Canton Pelileo. According to this, it is intended to describe the behavior of the organizations of washing and dyeing of jeans with the environment through the analysis of the environmental costs that these companies incur and through the analysis of the environmental legislation since these organizations must comply with the law described by the Ministry of the Environment. In the present work of investigation was structured two survey for the companies and society, in which it was asked the types of environmental costs that these companies could incur and their willingness to contribute with a monetary value by favorable environmental change, whereas for the society was described the bad behavior of companies washing and dyeing jeans in the environment by their production process, in which they were asked directly if they would be willing to pay an additional cost for a pair of pants, with the aim of contributing the natural habitat. The research concludes with the feasibility analysis of a contingent valuation method. This implies that estimating environmental costs from an analysis of the change that occurs in the economic value due to a change in the supply of an environmental good, gives a more precise idea of the valuation that the consumers have as regards the effect that a product can have on the environment.
