Item Adicción a las redes sociales y estado de ánimo en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-09-18) Quevedo Romero, Carlos Andrés; Ponce Delgado, Agueda del RocíoThe aim of the study was to determine the relationship between social network addiction and mood in university students. It is a non-experimental, cross-sectional, quantitative and correlational design. A total of 254 students between 18 and 22 years of age participated. The instruments used were the Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (ARS) to measure addiction, and the Mood Rating Scale (EVEA) which measures 4 dimensions: sadness-depression, anxiety, anger-hostility and happiness. The results showed a positive correlation between addiction to social networks and the mood states of sadness-depression (Rho=0.320), anxiety (Rho=0.358), anger-hostility (Rho= 0.358) at the 0.001 level with mild intensity. While, joy is negatively correlated with social network addiction (Rho=-0.128) at 0.05 level with mild intensity. Thus concluding that the higher the score of negative mood states (sadness-depression, anger-hostility and anxiety) the higher the level of addiction to social networks; and the higher the score of happiness the lower the level of addiction to social networks.
