    The procurement of car bodies in Ecuador in terms of quality tools management is latent, since the use of them depends a lot if they are competitive in the local and international market. What is sought is to investigate how the tools of total quality are related to the measurement of productive competitiveness in the bodybuilding sector of the province of Tungurahua. Therefore, this research work has been aimed at making an analysis of quality tools used in the bodybuilding sector in order to design standardized techniques to improve production competitiveness and product attributes. The results of greatest impact were: that the total quality tools are related to the productive competitiveness in the bodybuilding sector of the province of Tungurahua with an average of 0.850, only 24% of the companies have ISO certification, of the quantity Tungurahua has a 65% share of the total number of car body companies, the necessary skills are not taken into account to hire personnel, and there are no cost reduction programs in production. Therefore, it was convenient to elaborate the Methodology for the application of quality tools with the purpose of improving the competitiveness of the Tungurahua bodybuilders.
