Item Aplicaciones de la espirulina-planta marina: revisión panorámica(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) Ochoa Galarza, Katherine Yolanda; Moyano Calero, Willian EudrillirSpirulina is a blue-green seaweed, the green hue is from chlorophyll and the bluish hue is from phycocyanin. Spirulina, having a high protein level, has been used for medical purposes, in this work the objective is to review the medicinal, nutritional and industrial applications that this seaweed has reached. In the present work, a systematic review of articles and publications of a scientific nature, related to the applications of spirulina, was carried out, to obtain information, several databases were reviewed, finding 532 articles, of which by means of inclusion criteria and exclusion, 35 articles were selected for analysis according to three search guidelines: applications in the area of health, food, and industry. In the articles reviewed, several applications in the field of health were evidenced, treatments that have been an achievement and other treatments that are being tested, the benefits of spirulina have been increasing in certain striking foods for people, being essential in the production. Spirulina in the context of health proved to be extremely useful, fighting cardiovascular problems, dyslipidemia, it is an antioxidant that helps the regeneration of muscle fibers in athletes, optimization of the immune system. This little -known seaweed at the local level has had a great impact at the international level, it has helped to combat a number of pathologies, which is why it seeks to increase its production.
