    Jardines terapéuticos y su aplicación en Centros de Estimulación Temprana

    The educational institutions at kindergarten and elementary level offer educational services and early stimulation in which through a previous analysis and planning, reinforce flaws presented by children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. In this way they support child development; the current research that took place in Tungurahua province, has as goal to innovate the educational environment, based on the design of therapeutic spaces that link the children with nature, satisfying the needs and requirements centered on the user, respecting the educational principles. In terms of methodology, the exploratory research was applied, which supported the gathering of information from different bibliographical sources. The field study was conducted through the observation of children from 3 to 5 years old from “Unidad Educativo Liceo Policial Mayor Galo Miño”. The gathering of data was achieved through interviews to experts on early stimulation, educational psychologists and experts on garden design, which clarified any doubts that were presented throughout the research. The documentary-bibliographic method was based on written documents, digital books and articles linked to the research topic, forming in this way, the theoretical framework and contextualization. Finally, the methodology of user-centered design was used in order to make the proposal of the therapeutic gardens’ design. The gathered information was about the type of relationship that exists between the children and the area suited for them (subnivel 2), the poor garden maintenance and others. Therefore, through a series of parameters and strategies, solutions were given to the proposal in order to contribute with the cognitive development, strengthening of social skills, and language through activities in the area.
