    Obtención e interpretación de indicadores energéticos del desarrollo sostenible para el Ecuador

    This work obtains and interprets the energy indicators for sustainable development that are presented by the International Atomic Energy Organization. These indicators analyze three dimensions: social, economic and environmental, proving to be a qualitative method for the determination of energy sustainability. In addition, a quantitative approach is applied applying the Energy Sustainability Index, which analyzes three aspects: energy equity, energy security and environmental sustainability. In order to measure the country's energy performance and compare it against a reference state. It is determined that Ecuador has certain energy inequities. Environmental sustainability is a strength for the country, while energy security and social equity are a weakness. These indicators reach the following values: social equity index 5.63 / 10; Energy security 5,33 / 10; Environmental sustainability 7,94 / 10. Energy sustainability reached an index of 6.03 / 10, ranking it 3 out of 5 countries studied.
