    ABSTRACT: According to Cedatos (2012) "Ecuador is the ninth Latin American country with the largest number of users in the social network of Facebook and the number 35 in the world. Like the other countries in the region, a sustained growth in recent months, with an audience Predominantly young. "Social networks are the topic that is currently found, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Instagram are the most used by people, but the predilection is Facebook, "Facebook is the queen, the great phenomenon of social networks in cyberspace "(Cáceres, 2011, p 250). People are free to post what they think through Facebook, however some of them use this social network to publish information, data that can be useful for the knowledge of people. Through communication products many pages on Facebook contribute to the education and development of people's knowledge. Educommunication is important because it is a tool that is present in the processes of teaching - learning, a method by which it helps the development, creativity and adequate understanding of the message. "Educommunication is a way of using communicative resources so that the audience becomes aware of their reality, to provoke reflection, to generate a discussion". (Kaplún, 1997, p.45). The Facebook page "Ambato Ayer y Hoy” disseminates content based on the historical life of the city of Ambato, through communication products, informs its followers about important data of the city. (Kaplún, 1997, p.48) "Educommunication is a way to use communicative resources so that the audience is aware of their reality, to provoke a reflection, to generate a discussion." Through the investigation will be able to verify the level of interaction that exists between followers and contents of the page, in addition if it contributes to the education of the people. However today, technology has been innovating more and more, giving people new software by which they can design communication strategies so that information reaches people in a safe way. This is why, as an alternative to communicate and contribute to the historical knowledge of people, this research concludes with the creation of a virtual platform or website through which the historical contents with which “Ambato Ayer y Hoy” account will be disseminated, guaranteeing a source Information and interaction about the history of the city of Ambato, photos and data that are relevant will be published weekly.
