Mg.This research aims to determine the influence of family functioning and the risk of domestic violence in 150 users from 20 to 60 years old who attended the Care Unit in comprehensive impact assessment of the prosecution of Tungurahua in the city of Ambato in the months of May-October 2015 who were individually I value through a semi-structured interview and by applying psychological reagents such as Family Questionnaire Sheet Functionality and vulnerability risk victims of domestic violence. Later the prevalence of domestic violence was calculated by collecting, coding, and data processing was concluded that family functioning does not influence the risk of domestic violence as functional families had a low risk of violence. It was further demonstrated that dysfunctional and severely dysfunctional families at high risk of violence. Moreover it was evident that the more vulnerable to domestic abuse was the female population however the male gender is also vulnerable but in smaller percentage.
